Tribal Tech: For the people, by the people

As we make our way through Native American Heritage Month, the strong virtues held tightly by the culture deserve to be highlighted – Honor, Wisdom, Fortitude, and Compassion are just a few that come to mind.  Today we spotlight Victoria Vasques, owner and chairwoman at Tribal Tech, not only for her success in the industry, but for holding these virtues through her work.

Victoria Vasques has taken the government tech industry to new levels with Tribal Tech and its dedication to making the government truly work for the people. After a lifelong dream of being a teacher, and becoming one for 4 years, a series of opportunities led Victoria to Washington, D.C. where she eventually found her passion within government tech services, making real change. Vasques says that Founding Tribal Tech was the natural progression, as it is a management and technical services company that collaborates with federal agencies, state and local governments, and tribal nations to improve services in the fields of health, security ,education, energy, and environment.

Vasques became a first-generation college graduate, after her father started the first education program on their reservation. Along with instilling the importance of education, her father also taught her the significance of giving back and investing in community. In 2017, Vasques founded the Ronald Maese Peralta Foundation, in honor of her father. The foundation provides educational and health opportunities and grants for local communities, as well as Native communities.

Victoria Vasques is a prime example of someone with the wisdom and fortitude to create change, along with the compassion and honor to make an impact. She is a reminder to us all of the way we should operate our businesses, and our lives – using our talents and knowledge for the greater good.
